A historic city on the Great Miami River

Hamilton is the county seat of Butler County, situated along the Great Miami River about 20 miles north of downtown Cincinnati. The river splits downtown into two sides, connected by several bridges, with High Street and Main Street anchoring each bank.

German Village and downtown revitalization

German Village, a nine-block historic district just north of downtown along the river, was Hamilton's first residential development outside the original Fort Hamilton and still features brightly painted Victorian homes. Downtown Hamilton has seen significant revitalization in recent years, anchored by Marcum Park, the RiversEdge Amphitheater, and a growing mix of local shops and restaurants.
