Located between Cincinnati and Dayton

Monroe sits in the Great Miami River valley along I-75, roughly halfway between Cincinnati and Dayton, with the city spanning parts of both Butler and Warren counties. What started as a rural crossroads has grown into a city of about 16,000 residents, with State Route 63 serving as the main east-west corridor through town.

Community Park and Bicentennial Commons

Monroe's Public Works Park and Recreation Department maintains five parks within the city. Community Park, a 55-acre park on South Main Street, includes playgrounds, baseball and softball diamonds, basketball courts, disc golf, and a historic log cabin. Bicentennial Commons Park sits along the Great Miami River at the city's western edge, with walking paths connecting to the Great Miami River Trail and US Bike Route 25.

New construction alongside established neighborhoods

Monroe has been one of the more active new-construction markets along the I-75 corridor, with subdivisions such as the Estates of Monroe Crossings, Stonybrook Crossing, and Heritage Green adding single-family homes, townhomes, and condos alongside established neighborhoods like Greenfields and Shaker Run.

Monroe Local School District
